2014 was apparently the year of black and white portraits and architecture for me. I took plenty of color work, but as I was narrowing down my personal favorites it ended up that they were all black and white. The year itself was anything but black and white for me. So perhaps there was something in the form and simple complexity of purely tonal imagery that I was drawn to.
I narrowed it down to my top 24. 21 of which were shot on film. This was not an intentional ratio, but was another interesting personal observation on what I was drawn to this year.
I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture so much of the world around me and to do so in such a personal way. Thank you to all who have hired me, patiently tagged along with me on shoots, and of course to my amazing subjects for being so gracious to spend their time in front of my lens.
I hope you will enjoy 2014 through my eyes and please feel to leave some love.
